If you do, you will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. What if an employee continues to work unapproved overtime after I instructed them to stop? An employee who continues to work unapproved overtime will be subject to disciplinary action. The employee, however, still must record and be paid for all hours worked, whether approved or not. There is no excuse for not paying a non-exempt employee for all of the time they work.
